Ladies and Gentlemen, New Deal Studios!

You might know where I work, but have you seen what we do?

I am elated to announce that after the longest, most painful and oft-"deprioritized" design phase in the history of the Web, we have finally launched (insert Hallelujah Chorus here) the New Deal Studios website!

Five excellent reasons to check it out:

1. You just can't get enough of my writing.
2. Film buff? Fanboy? Sci-fi geek? Like blowin' stuff up? Lots of pretty pictures for you to see in the "Gallery" section.
3. The "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) section includes some "Not So Frequently Asked Questions" (NSFAQ). Try the "Employment" and "Internship" links on the FAQ page....
4. Treasure hunt! Find Jenny in five of the seven "Crew Photos" in the "Fun" section (and no, I know it looks weird, but that is not my own arm behind my head).
5. For the love of all that is holy, we've been working on this *&$^%#@ thing for two years now, and I want SOMEBODY to see it.

I warn you, it's a pretty image-heavy site, so if your bandwidth sucks then you might not fully experience the magic that is the New Deal Studios Website Experience. But if you got the highspeed hookup and you're down with Flash, enjoy:

Is that you with the dogs?? I saw a woman with what appeared to be an Aussie shepherd-type dog in two pics and in the last one, someone has a very young puppy.

And do you still work there? How fun would that be? sigh.

How funny, people actually look at these old posts! My goodness, Julia -- you ARE procrastinating! ;)

Let's see: the (yes, Aussie) blue heeler is "Ford," and the young puppy is really just a wee poodle named "Poppy" (who has since passed on). Neither dog is mine! Gosh, those are photos from days of yore....

And no, I don't work there anymore, unfortunately. It was a really fun place with wonderful people, but the job wasn't something I wanted to do as a career, and my puppyraising got the big veto.

I'm now part-time at a nonprofit children's charity, and I'm volunteering and writing with the rest of my time. But I still hang out with the New Deal folks -- yesterday, actually, Lomax and I attended a lunchtime Halloween party and costume contest they had at the shop (and Lomaximus won us a $5 Starbucks gift card)!
